About LSH Developments

We’ve completed over 100 development projects since we started back in 1999, and are currently developing between 10 and 12 properties per year. Our projects have ranged from £50k to £3m budgets, from straightforward bathroom and kitchen retrofits through to more complex and demanding construction projects. We’ve renovated units which blend residential and commercial use, conducted renovations on terraced houses of all sizes and undertaken huge conversion projects. We’ve renovated a Grade II listed 1800s pub, converted Victorian properties under strict conservation laws and built a brand new city centre complex with over 70 bedrooms. The diversity of our project porfolio gives us the confidence that we can handle challenging sites.

Local knowledge

Our experience means that we know the city and its students inside out and we keep our information current by analysing our lettings performance annually. Armed with this insight, we can advise landlords and investors on optimum property sizes and areas for best return on investment.

Dedicated staff

We have a team dedicated to development projects with the necessary skills to ensure that everything runs smoothly, from planning applications to completion. This includes site management and labourers that we trust to complete works on time to our very exacting standards.

Lettings and management

We also have a dedicated lettings and property management team through Luxury Student Homes. They have the skills and experience to advertise, tenant and manage your property to give a hands-off investment. We consistently let our properties year after year and invest heavily in marketing and advertising to ensure that we stay current within our market.

Neil Colquhoun, Director

Originally from Liverpool, Neil graduated from the University of Liverpool in 1997 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He subsequently spent two years working within the construction sector before progressing into the world of recruitment.

After a successful 3-year spell in the UK, he relocated to Australia in 2002 and spent 9 years in Melbourne where he established, and still operates via his management team, a multi-million dollar turnover recruitment business within the Construction, Engineering & Property sectors.

Alongside this, he successfully developed the basis of his UK property portfolio before returning home to the North West in 2011 to focus on the development of Luxury Student Homes in the student market.

Lee Grierson, Director

Originally from Manchester, Lee also graduated from the University of Liverpool in 1997 with a degree in Civil Engineering before entering the world of consulting engineering where he worked with two major consultancies working on infrastructure projects in the North West. In 2000 he joined Transco/National Grid and spent 13 years working on major power projects, progressing in to the role of Construction Project Manager.

Lee partnered with Neil in 1999 in the purchase of their first student home and subsequently developed his own portfolio to provide high-end student accommodation in the Wavertree area. Lee joined Luxury Student Homes on a full time basis in 2013 and has been instrumental in the rapid growth of the business and the brand.

The team

The student lettings sector is a niche sector that not every lettings agent understands. Our lettings team is structured so as to ensure that whether you are an investor, tenant, landlord or parent we offer the very best service around; service that has been recognised and awarded as being the best in the market by Liverpool Student Union.

We use the latest lettings software to offer our landlords up to the minute reports and statements on their investments and our full time maintenance team ensure that our students and our properties are looked after at all times.

Our developments team are well versed in the specific requirements of student homes and between them we can service all of your construction and development requirements.
