World-renowned and varied universities
Liverpool remains a popular higher education destination for students: the city’s four universities all made The Sunday Times top 100 universities list in 2019, and the city is also home to renowned specialist schools for both medicine and the performing arts.
The city is also well on the international radar as somewhere to get a world-class education, currently ranking 106th on topuniversities.com’s global ranking system. The University of Liverpool also has a long-standing partnership with Xi’an Jiaotong University in China.
This stunning educational offering means that student numbers in the city are around 70000 in any given year and growing. Data from HESA (the Higher Education Statistics Agency) shows that student numbers in Liverpool have risen by approximately 2000 each year since 2014/15.
Low property prices
Property in the major student areas of Liverpool is substantially cheaper than those found in equivalent areas of other major university cities like Manchester and Leeds, which equates to higher rental yields.
